To help you find your ideal coffee at home, L’OR organises its range around a flavour wheel, connecting intensity with aromatic notes.

Each capsule is positioned within a profile that combines body, intensity and dominant notes, making it easier to choose intuitively:

• Smooth: light, balanced coffees with floral or fresh notes, ideal for everyday drinking

• Fruity: more vibrant profiles with elegant acidity and fruit notes

• Intense: coffees with character, featuring notes of chocolate and nuts

• Extra intense: deep, roasted flavours with spicy notes and a full body

Within each profile, you’ll find nuances such as sweet, roasted, spiced or chocolatey notes that define the cup experience.

What are the different types of coffee capsules?

Coffee capsules are designed around both machine compatibility and coffee format. The two main L’OR capsule types are Classic capsules and XXL capsules, each serving a different purpose.

Classic capsules are the standard format used for espresso, ristretto and lungo coffee, and are compatible with both L’OR BARISTA® machines and Nespresso® Original machines. XXL capsules are designed for larger coffees and are used exclusively with L’OR BARISTA® machines.

Understanding these formats helps you choose the right capsule based on your machine and the type of coffee you want to prepare.

What is the difference between L’OR Classic and XXL capsules?

The difference lies in compatibility and coffee size.

L’OR Classic capsules are the most versatile option, designed for everyday espresso and lungo, and compatible with both Nespresso® Original and L’OR BARISTA® machines.

L’OR XXL capsules include XXL formats. XXL capsules contain more coffee and are designed for larger drinks, such as mugs or milk-based coffees, and can only be used with L’OR BARISTA® machines.

In short:

• Classic capsules: standard coffee, cross-machine compatibility

• XXL capsules: larger coffee, Barista-only
